Why an operator built his own CRM
I’m the owner of Vent Pro NYC, a family-owned dryer vent cleaning company in Brooklyn. For years we ran on Jobber — until the price kept climbing and, this August, our account got shut off with our whole customer history inside it.
By then I’d already built my own replacement: booking, scheduling, texting, invoicing, payments — everything a one-truck company actually touches, and none of the enterprise bloat we paid for and never opened. My company runs on it every single day. The screenshots on this page are the real product.
Now I set it up for a few other operators: your own private copy, your data in your own database, migrated in by someone who knows exactly what a day in this trade looks like.
A day in the truck, screen by screen
Every screenshot below is the live product running on demo data — the same system Vent Pro NYC uses on real jobs every day.
Your day on one screen
Open the app and see today's visits, what they're worth, who still owes you, and what needs action — then clock in and go. No laptop, no office stop.

A schedule that plans the route
Day, list, and map views with the drive built in — order today's stops by time or shortest drive and hit Start navigation. Arrival windows and customer notes ride along.

Invoice from the driveway
Turn the finished job into an invoice with line items and tax, then collect on the spot — card, payment link, or text it over. The visit isn't done until the money is moving.

Real two-way business texting
Confirmations, on-my-way texts, and reminders go out automatically from your business number — and when customers text back, replies land in one inbox with unread badges, not your personal phone.

And a real office on the desktop
Receivables, this week’s pipeline, revenue so far this month, and a calendar that shows the whole operation — for the evenings when you do sit down at a computer.

Everything a one-truck company actually uses
Online booking with deposits
Customers book on your website and pay a $50 deposit through Stripe — no more no-shows holding a slot for free.
Automatic reminders & review asks
Day-before reminders, on-my-way texts, payment nudges, and a review request when the invoice is paid — all automatic.
Annual re-booking engine
Vent cleaning is a yearly service. Every finished job can arm next year's reminder, so your customer list quietly refills your calendar.
Quotes, invoices & payments
Good/better/best quotes customers approve by phone, invoices with tax handled, and card, cash, check, or Zelle recorded in one place.
Customer records that matter on site
Gate codes, dog names, roof access, dryer make and model, photo history, and airflow readings — the details that make you look like you remember everyone.
Your own private system
Not seats on a shared platform: your own copy, your own database, your own booking site. Export your data anytime — it's yours.
Founding operator pricing
I’m onboarding the first three operators personally — white-glove setup, direct line to me, and a say in what gets built next. When those slots are gone, this pricing goes with them.
- Your system stood up on your own domain, with your logo and services
- Customers, jobs, and invoices migrated in — including out of Jobber
- Business texting number registered the right way, so texts deliver
- Stripe connected so you can take cards and send payment links
- Your prices, service area, and booking rules configured
- A walkthrough call on your phone, plus direct support from me after
Founding operator
$129/month
plus a one-time $750white-glove setup. Hosting, updates, and support included. Texting usage at cost; card processing at Stripe’s standard rates. No contract — cancel anytime and keep your data.
You’ll get a 4-minute video of the system running a real day, then a 15-minute call. No demo licenses, no sales team.
Questions operators actually ask
- Is this Jobber?
- No. VentCRM is an independent system built from scratch by a working dryer vent cleaning operator, after Jobber shut off our own account. It covers the day-to-day a one-truck operation actually uses: booking, scheduling, texting, invoicing, and payments. Jobber is a trademark of its owner; VentCRM is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jobber.
- Who am I actually buying from?
- From me — the owner of Vent Pro NYC, a family-owned dryer vent cleaning company in Brooklyn, NY. I built this system to run my own business and I run my whole operation on it every day. When you call for support, you get someone who has cleaned vents that morning.
- What makes this different from big field-service software?
- You get your own private copy of the system — your own database, your own booking site, your own texting number. Your customer list never sits in a shared platform, and it exports whenever you want. And it's already tuned for vent work: airflow readings, before/after photos, roof-access notes, annual re-booking reminders.
- What does setup include?
- Everything. I stand up your system, migrate your customers, jobs, and invoices (including out of Jobber), connect Stripe so you can take cards, register a business texting number so your messages actually deliver, load your services and prices, and walk you through the phone app on a call. You need a phone and about an hour.
- What does it cost after the setup fee?
- $129/month, which covers hosting, updates, and support. Text-message usage is billed at cost (typically a few dollars a month), and card payments go through your own Stripe account at Stripe's standard rates. No contract — cancel anytime and take your data with you.
- My company isn't dryer vents — can I still use it?
- Probably. It fits any small route-based home service that books visits, texts customers, and invoices on site — duct cleaning, chimney sweeps, appliance repair. The vent-specific extras just come along for free. Email me and we'll talk through your workflow.
